Eli was a young wolf when he over-zealously tried to help his pack take down a large stag. His pack was small at the time and he was too small to handle the fight. He was caught by the deer’s antlers and slammed against a tree. His pack let the deer retreat and stayed with him until he seemed all but dead. As this incident had occurred in the Sarim Forest, the Fae had taken note, and a young faerie named Adaire, who was at the time apprenticing for an animal healer, was given the task of healing him. Adaire succeeded, but the experience left Ali a meeker creature than he had been. He and the young faerie bonded, and from thence forth he accompanied her everywhere.
When Adaire ventured into the human city, Eli remained at her side, and upon her initiation into the order of Druids, he became her animal companion. Eli is a lean wolf, somewhat on the small side for an adult male. He is generally unaggressive around people but highly protective of Adaire. He does not attack anything larger than he is unless Adaire commands or is in danger.
